Too many hardworking Americans are struggling and yet pay their taxes. When the people are late or fail, they are punished, and when these politicians outright hide, the government tends to forgive them. When will the government forgive the people?

Obama's judgement is inept. Two cabinet secretaries already withdrawn. Perhaps we should have elected McCain.

Regardless of what the groundhog saw, there is going to be four more years of winter in Washington.

At least John Cornyn and Kay Bailey Hutchison voted against Eric Holder, the nominee for Attorney General.

Sen. Cornyn, you play politics when you vote for someone that has no business being our Treasury Secretary. You may be fighting for our values, but you sacrificed them on that one vote.

Sen. John Cornyn voted for Timothy Geithner.

He is now the U.S. Treasury Secretary.

I urge every tax payer to sit out April 15.

This outweighs a lot of the good work Cornyn has done for Texas and the United States. I voted for him to act as a trustee, and right now that trust is waning.

I called Sen. Cornyn's office yesterday inquiring about his vote in favor of Timothy Geithner for U.S. Treasury Secretary in committee, and this was the response I was given by one of the office workers:

"Sen. Cornyn met with him and while concerned about his record, he believes that we need a Secretary of the Treasury more, especially with our economy the way it is now. Cornyn, however, will uphold him to the highest standard."

But will Cornyn support him in the floor vote?

"He has not yet expressed whether he will support him or not."

I believe Cornyn has good intentions, but is it good sense to support a man who fails to pay taxes and brushes it off as a mistake?

Strike one for Sen. Cornyn.

The Senate Finance Committee voted 18-5 [13 D + 5 R to 5 R] in favor of Geithner's nomination for U.S. Treasury Secretary.

Who let this happen? Who were the five Republicans that allowed this tax evader to come one step closer to confirmation, a man, Majority Leader Harry Reid called, 'exactly the man for the job?'

Well the five that voted against Geithner were:

Chuck Grassley-Iowa

Jon Kyl-Arizona

Jim Bunning-Kentucky

Pat Roberts-Kansas

Mike Enzi-Wyoming

Applause for them!

That leaves these Republicans in favor of Geithner:

John Ensign-Nevada

John Cornyn-Texas

Boo!

And especially Boo to John Cornyn, a new member of the Finance Committee. I would urge all CRs across Texas to call Cornyn's offices and ask why he supported Geithner. Then ask him if he will support him on the floor. We need leadership from Texas.
